Elle did such an amazing job, this murder mystery weekend was the perfect way for Ethan and Jordon to reconnect. Their journey to their happiness together started off rough but the more they were around each other the more they realized they still loved each other, have chemistry and before you know they realized they couldn’t live without each other any longer. I absolutely loved the mystery in this book and that love bloomed in the middle of it all. ❤️
I usually prefer my second chance stories with a bit more grit - this resumption of relations seemed too fast to be believable - but it was an entertaining read and the characters were engaging. I’d like to meet them again as the dynamic and banter between them was fun.
"Real Chance" is a second chance at love story in the West Coast Forensics universe. A meddling friend invites Ethan Moore to a murder mystery weekend at the hotel on Pierdas Island. One of the other players is Jordan Ferguson, who broke Ethan's heart 18 years ago.
While I love this WCF universe, second chance is not a favorite trope. Often it's something ridiculous that broke lovers up, in this case youth and immaturity. And then there's the whole groveling thing. Should I or shouldn't I, make him grovel.
So, a little angst. Confronting Jordan on the ghosting of Ethan. Just when things look to get a little steamy, we're at the end of this short tale.
I enjoy reading the author's books, very much. I love the building tension, the edge o' seat excitement. And we didn't even get the chance to stumble over a real dead body.

I really enjoyed reading Real Chance by Elle Keaton, and it is part of the West Coast Forensics, though you don't have to read them to enjoy this. This is a second chance read about Ethan and Jordan with a fun weekend of a murder mystery (no real murder). I've read the whole series so I was happy to see Ethan get his HEA, if I had a real complaint it's that I wish it was longer and gave us a chance to really see these two together.
A cute little Piedras novella (though not set on Piedras). More to it, a second-chance story, which always does it for me!
